After graduation, I received a scholarship to travel anywhere I wished - I chose to explore western Oregon. Though it was only meant to be a short visit, I have now lived here for over 14 years. The endless beauty of the natural world that surrounds me inspires not only my illustrations, but many elements of my graphic design work as well. I currently live in the outskirts of Eugene, Oregon. For the first 10 years of my career, I focused mostly on children’s book illustration. In 2015, I took a job at a small in-house marketing department for a company that specializes in natural home and garden products. Here, I was able to greatly expand my illustration portfolio, while also learning more about photography and animation. The most enjoyable part of my job was creating illustrations for exclusive products, then corresponding with manufacturers in the US, India, China and Europe to ensure that these products were created to our desired specifications. In four years, I grew immensely as an artist and a businessperson and rose from an entry level position to that of Senior Designer and Illustrator. I take all of these experiences and personal growth with me as I return to freelance illustration. I am interested in creating images for print and online publications, as well as children’s book illustrations, advertisements and custom-designed products.
